What is a Chase Car and why do I need one?

A chase car is a car share host’s personal vehicle that is used to access the parking facility to complete hosting tasks (cleaning vehicles, pre & post trip photos, etc). Chase cars need to be registered in the Park My Share system in order to have access to the DFW Peer To Peer lot.

STEP 1: Create Account

  • Create an account with Park My Share using the Park My Share Signup Link

    • For “Company Info” input your company name and info

    • If you do not operate under a company name, type in your first name, last name, then the word “Turo". For example: “Joe Smith Turo”

STEP 2: Add Vehicle & Activate

  • Click on the black “+ Vehicle” button on the top right hand of your main home screen to start adding your chase car

  • Fill out all of the requested vehicle information. Please ensure 100% accuracy when filing out the vehicle info to allow the licence plate recognition system to accurately vend.

    • You will need the following information:

      • Year, Make, Model, Color of your vehicle

      • VIN

      • License Plate Number

  • Once you complete all of the vehicle info, hit save and refresh your browser.

  • Click on the three dots in the “action column” on the right hand side of your vehicle dashboard

    • Once you click on the 3 dots in the “action column” do the following:

      • Click “Activate vehicle”

      • Select the “Dallas, TX DFW Peer to Peer” location then click “next”

      • Confirm you are selecting the correct vehicle(s)

      • Click “purchase” (there is no cost)

        • Please Note - You can ignore the “AVI Tag” language as this is not relevant for this facility. As long as you see the status as “Active” you are good to assign the the vehicle as a chase car.

STEP 3: ID the Vehicle as Your Chase Car

  • The last step will be to assign your active vehicle(s) as a chase car

    • Click on the “tools” dropdown on the left hand side of your home screen and click on the “chase car” button

    • Mark all of your chase cars and hit “save”

    • It may take up to 10 mins for the chase car logged and ready for access
